KAMD Pediatrics — Services Editor
A wide range of pediatric and adolescent care services — from your baby's first checkup to sports clearance for your teen.
Expecting a baby and looking for the right pediatrician? Visit our office for a tour and meet with Dr. Kashif Anwar before your baby arrives. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, understand our office policies, and feel confident in your choice of pediatric care.
We welcome expectant parents and love helping families prepare for their newest arrival. There is no cost for a prenatal consult visit.
From newborn to 18 years of age, your child needs routine health maintenance exams. Well child checkups include routine and mandatory vaccines, developmental screenings, growth monitoring, and age-appropriate guidance for parents.
We recommend scheduling physicals during the month of your child's birthday. Yearly physicals should be scheduled 4–8 weeks in advance.
*30-month visit for Medicaid patients only
Our office always has open slots for patients who get sick and need urgent care. Call earlier in the day to reserve a same-day sick appointment. We have completely separate well and sick child waiting rooms and exam rooms with no crossover — protecting healthy children from illness.
Children requiring attention on a given day are usually seen the same day. Your child's health cannot wait.
Most of the time, if you are maintaining your child's yearly checkup, a separate sports physical may not be required — since your provider had already performed a comprehensive exam. However, if required by your school or sport, we provide full athletic clearance physicals.
Bring your school's physical form on the day of your child's well visit and we will fill it out at no charge. A $10 fee applies if requested after the visit.
If you have chosen Dr. Anwar as your primary care provider at Medical City of Arlington (MCA), he will visit you and your child daily while you are admitted. This ensures continuity of care and that your child is always seen by a familiar, trusted physician.
Dr. Kashif Anwar has vast experience successfully evaluating and treating patients who struggle with focusing. From initial evaluation through regular follow-ups and medication management, we provide comprehensive ADHD care tailored to your child.
For ADHD medication refills, please contact the office directly. Review ADHD-specific policies under our Office Policies page.
In certain cases your child might not need to see a provider — a visit with a Medical Assistant would be sufficient, such as vaccine-only visits, blood pressure checks, or simple wound care. This saves you time and keeps appointments moving efficiently.
Should you have an urgent question arise outside of regular business hours, our trained after-hours nurses will help guide you on how to care for your child's off-hour medical needs. Call the regular office number and you will be provided with an after-hours phone number to speak with an on-call nurse.
Your pharmacy can send an electronic refill request directly to our office. Our providers do their best to handle all refill requests the same day or by the next business day. For urgent refills, call the office directly — staff may ask questions to assess whether an exam is needed.
In most cases, if your child needs a dental or any other pre-operative clearance, that exam must be performed within a specific window before the procedure. Contact our office to schedule a clearance visit and we will work with your specialist's timeline.
Our providers are always keen on following up their patients. If your child has asthma, ADHD, or certain chronic conditions, regular follow-up appointments are required to monitor progress, adjust treatment, and ensure your child is thriving.
As your child's primary care provider, we complete daycare/Head Start forms, medication forms, FMLA forms, 504 program forms, additional vaccination records, sports physicals, and more. We also coordinate specialist referrals through your insurance's referral coordinator.
We accept all major private and Medicaid insurance plans including CHIP, Medicaid, Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, United Healthcare, Humana, Ambetter, Molina, Superior Health Plan, and more.
For HMO and Medicaid plans, please have Dr. Kashif Anwar assigned as your child's primary care physician before your visit.
Dr. Anwar has a special interest in asthma. His evaluation, treatment, and plan of care is always detailed and comprehensive.
He believes that asthma and its right care is all about understanding — if a parent can understand the cause of asthma and the reasons for the medications given, a parent can manage asthma very well and avoid multiple ER and urgent care visits.
If your child has asthma, contact Dr. Kashif Anwar today.
Dr. Anwar loves to take on challenges and he never refuses any patient with special needs or chronic conditions.
If you are looking for a caring physician who can help you with all the referrals and coordination with your child's subspecialists — this office is for you.
